Located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, the Wiltern Theatre was built in 1931. The Wiltern Theatre was designed as a vaudeville theater and was for the Warner Brothers Western Theater flagship theater chains. The Wiltern closed a year later. In the middle of the 30's it reopened and was renamed the Wiltern Theatre because of the intersection that it lies on Wilshire Blvd, and Western Avenue. During the 1950's, the Wiltern suffered through poor management and neglect. In 1981, the Wiltern Theatre was purchased by Wayne ratkovich, and looked to restore the site. The Wiltern Theatre reopened in 1985 after renovations. The Pellissier Building is a 12-story building, and is a Art Deco design.
