Sugarland is a country music duo composed of two singer-songwriters: Kristian Bush and lead singer Jennifer Nettles from Atlanta, Georgia. Sugarland was first created in 2003 by Kristen Hall a songwriter from Atlanta, Georgia but she left the band in 2006. In the 1990's and in 2000's prior to Sugarland being formed they were common folk in Atlanta's folk-rock scene. In 2003, Sugarland was signed to Mercury Nashville Records. The first single was, "Baby Girl", followed by the release of "Something More". Sugarland's first album was Twice the Speed of Life, which has sold more than 2 million copies. In November 7, 2006, Sugarland released their second album called Enjoy the Ride. From the album came the single "Walk In", which went number one in the US Top 200, which followed by the second single called "Settlin", which also went number one in the charts. The song "Settlin", was used during the 2007 ACC Men's basketball Tournament and SEC Tournament. The song "Everyday America", which was performed on the Today Show and the 2007 ACM Awards is currently the theme song for Good Morning America. In 2007, Sugarland went of tour for their Change for Change Tour.

Sugarland was nominated in 2006 at the 48th Annual Grammy Awards and was nominated for Best New Artist Grammy. In 2006, Sugarland also performed at the 2006 CMT Music Awards and received nominations for Collaborative Video of the Year for "Who Says You Can't Go Home", nominated for Breakthrough Video of the Year for "Something More", and also for Group/Duo Video of the Year for "Just Might (Make Me Believe)". In 2007, Sugarland appeared on the 2007 DVD release Kids' Favorite Country Songs to sing "Songs" with Elmo. In 2007, Sugarland performed in the 41st CMA Awards, and they also won for Vocal Duo of the Year award. In 2007, Sugarland performed at the American Music Awards a song from Beyonce Knowles album "Irreplaceable".
