Indiana Pacers Information and History. The Indiana Pacers begin in 1967 as part of the American Basketball Association. The Indiana Pacers won three ABA Championships in four years. The Indiana Pacers would eventually lose to the New York Knicks. In the 1994-95 season the Indiana Pacers aquired point guard Mark Jackson from the Los Angeles Clippers, the team finished with a 52-30 record and their first Central Division title. Once again the Indiana Pacers would lose to a team in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals. In the 1999-00 season, the Indiana Pacers won beat the Milwaukee Bucks, 76ers, and finally got pass the New York Knicks, to win their First Eastern Conferene Championship. The Indiana Pacers would fall short as they would face the powerfull Los Angeles Lakers. After a couple of wrong moves the Indiana Pacers luck changed. In 2007 the Indiana Pacers hired Jim O'Brien as the new head coach.
