From 1984-1991, Motley Crue endured a lot of fame. Motley Crue, released several best-selling albums which included: Shout at the Devil, Theatre of Pain, and Girl, Girls, Girls. During this time Vince Neil was involved in a DUI and vehicular manslaughter, and served thirty days in jail. In 1987, Sixx almost died due to a near-fatal heroin overdose, but one medic did not give up, even though he was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital. In 1989, Motley Crue gained the most popularity and released their fifth album, Dr Feelgood, which became the band’s only number one song. In 1991, Motley Crue released their sixth album, “Decade of Decadence”, which made number two on the Billboard charts.

From 1992-2003, Motley Crue struggled to meet fan expectations. There was controversy whether Vince Niel was either fired or quit in 1992. In 1997, Motley Crue reunited, when Vince Neil met with the other members, and the band produced the album, Generation Swine.
