This timeless and breathtaking musical begins with the out-of-control children of 17 Cherry Tree Lane running off another nanny, and therefore deciding to take out their own ad to find the “Perfect Nanny”. Upon seeing this ad, the children’s father Mr. Banks, tears it up and tosses it into the fire where it is taken up the chimney. Within moments, Mary Poppins arrives and fits the children’s wishes to a tee. She takes control, and in exchange for their good behavior begins to introduce them to a world of magic.

Through Mary Poppins unique way of teaching the children, they are soon taught to look past appearances, control their tempers, and recognize the hard work of their parents. Yet, amidst all of these adventures all is not well on Cherry Tree Lane. Risky business ventures, and turmoil at home cause Mary Poppins to leave the children and put all of their lessons to the test.

With the disappearance of Mary Poppins, the house on Cherry Tree lane finds itself turned upside down. When one of the children runs away to escape the harsh grasp of the new Nanny, the family finds itself in need of Mary Poppins again. Mary Poppins returns to help teach the children their final lessons and guide the family to happy future. Mary Poppins introduces the children to the chimney sweepers who will act as guides for them when Mary Poppins is gone.
