Judas Priest is a heavy metal rock band that was formed in birmingham, England. The band Judas Priest was formed by Ian Hill bassist, and K.K. Downing in 1970. Glen Tipton, Rob Halford, Downing, Hill are the vocalists. Judas Priest is considered one of heavy metal greatest band of all-time and has sold over 25 million records. The newest member is Scott Travis. In 1974, Judas Priest released the single entitled, "Rocka Rolla", and the album which was named the same thing came out a month later, and it did not fair well. In 1976, Judas Priest recorded their second album, in which they had more input called, "Sad Wings of Destiny". Judas Priest would later release three more albums from 1977-1978, with a session drummer, Simon Philips and Les (James Leslie) Binks Binks. When "Binks", quit Judas priest, the band replaced him with Dave Holland, and Judas Priest went on to record one live album, and six studio records.

Judas Priest, after releasing the Killing Machine or Hell Bent for Leather as it was called in U.S., the band was a hit. In 1982, Judas Priest released the Screaming for Vengeance album, which went double platinum, with popular songs like: Electric Eye, and You've Got Another Thing Comin. In 1990, Judas Priest released the album Painkiller, which moved away from the synthesisers and focused on metal.

In 1991, Halford left Judas Priest due to some conflict with the band, and formed a new band called Fight. In 2003, Rob Halford and Judas Priest came back together and went on to tour in the Ozzfest in 2004.

Judas Priest released a new album called, Angel of Retribution in 2005. Judas Priest has been inducted into the VH1 Rock Honors in 2006. In June of 2008, Judas Priest is set to release thier 16th studio album entitled,"Nostradamus".
