Cleveland Browns Information and History. The Cleveland Browns originated in 1945, as a charter member of the All-America Football Conference. The Cleveland Browns dominated the All-American Football Conference winning four of its championships The league ended after the 1949 season. The Cleveland Browns would join the National Football League, where they would continue there winning ways led by future hall of famers Otto Graham, Marion Motley, and Dante Lavelli. In 1957, the Browns drafted fullback Jim Brown, who would go on to set National Football League rushing records. After the Browns relocated in 1995 to Baltimore, the team name was not allowed to go, and eventually in 1999 the "Dawg Pound" would return to Cleveland. Under new heac coach Butch Davis the Browns would improve and made the playoffs but unfortunately could not keep the momentum going. In 2007 the Cleveland Browns selected Norte Dame quarteback Brady Quinn with the 22nd draft pick in the 2007 Draft. The future looks bright for the Cleveland Browns.
